My ex-husband gave me genital warts

I recently found that my ex-husband gave me HPV (genital warts). I have just had my first (hopefully only) break out, cause most likely by the stress of divorce.

My question to all are…

Has anyone had them removed?

Without being too graphical here, how bad was it to have them removed?

Whatother options are there if they don’t seem to be going away?

I’ve talked some with my doctor, however, I am looking for more information from others that have similar experiences.

Any suggestions or comments greatly appreciated!

    I have had them removed. My doctor did a treatment on me(sorry i have a horrible memory i don’t remember the name of the procedure) It stung a little bit. I also used after that the Aldara creme. It worked really well with only slight irritation in that area for me. I think that some things work for some people and some for others. I havent had another breakout in 2 1/2 years now so it seemed to work great for me.

    I have used Aldara, as many doctors seem to prescribe these days and everyone is different and reacts differently. It all depends on your immune system and
    how severe your hpv is. Lots of people have had good and bad stories to tell about Aldara. There is also the acid treatment, it is basically burning the warts
    off. There are many different topical treatments that you apply at home. I would reccommend the books “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About HPV and Your Abnormal Pap” and “Woman at Risk The HPV Epidemic and Your Cervical Health” both very informative books.
