HPV Genital Warts Treatment > Genital Warts In Women > I’ve never done it before

I’ve never done it before

so I’m hoping that talking to people going through the same thing I am will help calm me nerves. I was diagnosed with genital warts in Novemeber 2004. I’ve never had an STD before. I was with a guy I’ve known my whole life and trusted greatly. We were never officially boyfriend and girlfriend although I thought we would soon be. When I discovered that I had gentital warts, I told my partner immediately.
He however denied everything and I haven’t really spoken to him since.
I later found out that he was sleeping with someone else while he was with me. Anyway, I was treated about 3 times and I’ve been outbreak free since January 2005. I haven’t even really looked at a guy since I was diagnosed. I’ve been terrified about spreading it and even the rejection from someone I may find to like, not wanting to even give me the time of day. I’m only 19 and I feel that I can’t ever be with anyone ever again. I’m terrified. Can anyone help me???

I am 23 and was just diagnosed about a month ago. I too am feeling that I will never be able to find someone who will want to be with me because i have HPV. People in this club are very nice and offer good advice. I have been told that if you meet a person and he/she really likes/loves you, having HPV wont be an issue. Sure its possible both you and me are going to get rejected at some point because of our situation, but we will both find love.
There are many people in this group that have found someone after being diagnosed with HPV and have even gotten married and had children. i know it seems hopeless at the moment, believe me i know. but just focus on you right now, focus on getting healthy and staying that way.you are young, and there is plenty of time to find the “right one”. if you feel like talking, feel free to write any time. Hope this helps a little.

I agree with Keri. Concentrate on you. Of you don’t get healthy and stay healthy there is a higher chance of having more outbreaks. It all seems hopless but guys are more understanding than you think.
Thats if they like you though. Just keep your head up high. All the best to you.
